About Richard
Mr. Oden earned Top Commissioner of the Year 2016 in the State of Georgia and he served as Rockdale County Chairman and CEO for eight years. He is retired in leadership from Anheuser Busch Company after nearly three decades in his career. In addition, he is a highly skilled businessman with Alexander At’ Ta Associates for 31 years as a Management Consultant who trains businesses and non-profit organizations with (TQM) Total Quality Management principles.
As a prominent figure within the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), Richard played various crucial roles in shaping regional policies and initiatives for 15 years. Serving as a member of the ARC Executive Policy Making Committee for eight years, He contributed to strategic planning efforts aimed at facilitating federal and state funding for the twenty counties in the Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) planning district. Additionally, his involvement in the Transportation Air Quality Committee (TAQC) enabled him to influence regional and local transportation project prioritization over the same period. Moreover, he chaired the Community Resource Committee for seven years, where he led a team in making policy decisions concerning land use development, water management, and natural resources. In his two years as a member of the Governance Committee, He participated in organizational policy-making discussions at the executive level. Furthermore, his four-year tenure on the Budget and Audit Review Committee (BARC) allowed him to contribute to financial and management board reviews.
